Center Assistant

Summary:
The VCU School of Education's Child Development Center is seeking to hire five part-time Center Assistants to support the CDC in providing high-quality care and education by assisting with center activities. General duties are:

• Provide instructional support to classroom teachers.
• Provide direct student assistance or supervision.
• Assist a classroom teachers in planning and implementing daily activities.

Minimum Hiring Standards

• Previous experience working in a childcare setting.
• Some college coursework.
• Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills required.
• A professional attitude and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to follow set policies and procedures and adhere to regularity guidelines in daily work.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• First Aid / CPR certification
