Job DescriptionJob Title: Machinist LeadJob Code: Machinist T16Last Updated: 9.19.24Hours: A Shift: 7:00am-3:30pmJob ResponsibilitiesSets up machine and observes machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and caliper.Sets up and control operation of computerized deburring and tooling machine to perform series of machining operations, such as drilling, chamfering, and deburringInspects "first part", and inspects work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining.Responsibly maintains inventory for raw materials consumed on jobs and work orders so that parts can be re-ordered within appropriate lead timesMaintain work area to ensure a safe and clean work environmentInspection of work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machiningResponsibly maintains inventory for raw materials consumed on jobs and work orders so that parts can be re-ordered within appropriate lead timesAct as lead by coordinating the workload between CNC machinesColloborate with engineer/supervisor for process improvementsLead actions with CNC machine efficiencies by updating, creating and altering programsLead and drive machine risk analysis leading to capacity planning in the CNC areaLead training for new machinistsQualificationsMust have proficient English reading and writing skills and be able to read and comprehend MSDS sheets and standard work instructions. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
