Position: Lead Test Engineer, 5G Base Station

Pay Range: $136,000- $213,333 (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Lead Test Engineer, 5G Base Station will be responsible for developing, testing, and verification of the 5G base station, with a focus on the development of the Radio Unit (RU). Job Duties include working with other engineers to develop, enable, and debug new features needed for testing, calibration, and verification platform for RU and integration with DU and CU, including co-designing the test and calibration test and script development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work on the validation and automation of the development, test, and verification setup for the 5G Base Station development.
  • Collaborate with system and RF engineers on functional and conformance test requirements, test setup, and the test plan.
  • Execute calibration of new features and test cases for Unit Test, signaling, and non-signaling test mode for RU and/or DU/CU.
  • Develop test scripts using Python for automating test procedures and recording test results.
  • Execute various tests and analyze test results with system and design engineers.
  • Fine-tune task manager parameters for performance optimization under various test load conditions.
  • Debug and analyze new feature logs with team members.
  • Work closely with the software development team to perform conformance tests and resolve customer issues.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with 5-10 years or PhD with 0 years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, communication area, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Test Script Software or Firmware.
  • In-depth understanding of 3GPP 5G NR and ORAN standards.
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and Shell scripting; good knowledge of RF and microwave.
  • Understanding of Core Network and 5G Network Architecture.
  • Experience with (R&S/Viavi) test equipment and related software/signal suite/test scripts.
