Job Summary:
Pharma MDM Business Analyst, Information Management primary purpose is to analyze, define & govern the centralized organizational and project Master Data. This role is focused primarily on commercial data systems and sources but may also support clinical and R&D data. The success of the role is measured by the degree of data consumption, data availability and quality for any downstream processes, but also by the availability of the legacy data as per the agreed timelines This effort requires skilled resources to assist, encode & review data, but also own various tasks & maintain the central MDM business & system architecture going forward at steady state/business as usual. This role is accountable to provide a transversal oversight of the data across all the streams of the Program and to ensure enhancements, continued maintenance & further roll-out as global health authorities adopt new data requirements. The role will support the mastering of Project structured data as close to source as possible by leveraging the data standards. This role will help to generate quality insights leveraging on a mix of structured & unstructured data across both internal & external systems (Databases).
Key Responsibilities
- Gathering requirements; Working with stakeholders to gather requirements for MDM use cases
- Analyzing data: Analyzing pharmaceutical and health care data sources and formats to identify trends and patterns that can improve business processes
- Defining standards: Defining and governing data modeling and design standards, tools, and best practices
- Deep understanding of business impacts and rules for usage of pharmaceutical master data.
- Documenting: Documenting data terms, definitions, standards, and MDM processes
- Developing documentation: Developing business and data procedures, source to target mappings, DQ rules, and related documentation • Preparing test data: Identifying and preparing test data to support testing phases
- Managing day-to-day activities: Managing and monitoring day-to-day activities such as user acceptance testing and creating user stories
- Communicating changes: Producing business flowcharts or other visual aids to communicate changes to the business teams
Qualifications
- Degree in life sciences or computer sciences or a related field strongly desired.
- 5+ years of experience in master data management, data governance or related roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- 3+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical Data governance, master data management and analytics with software experience (ie. MDM, SQL etc)
- Data-driven problem solver with the ability to analyze data, extract trends from analysis, and present a story.
- Expertise in MDM technologies, data management and governance tools, and methodologies such as Informatica MDM, Reltio, Collibra
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in a simple and coherent manner, both verbally and in writing • Demonstrates capability to proactively identify and resolves data quality issues with minimal oversight
- Certifications in MDM, data governance, or related areas are advantageous
- Proven experience of working with complex integrated systems, using creative and strategic thinking to deliver exceptional results
- Strong ability to listen to discussion and capture requirements in meaningful, precise manner that can be understood by both technical and non-technical participants.
- Ability to collaborate and relate to team members from a large variety of backgrounds on a daily basis
Work Location
Place of employment is expected to be 90% remote. For all remote meetings, all employees are required to be on-camera with appropriate business casual attire and background. On occasion, some travel to client locations or company meetings may be required. Travel will be no more than 10%.
Work Schedule
Typical schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Must be flexible to accommodate departmental needs and client/staff time zones. At times, overtime maybe needed to accomplish deliverables which could include evenings or weekend hours.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods in front of a screen. The ability to move about to accomplish tasks. Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions. Communicating verbally and written word with others to exchange information. Exposure to a standard office environment with average room temperatures with no adverse environmental conditions expected. Ability to travel within the continental USA via plane or car required.
