Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain regulatory records regarding utility maintenance issues and wastewater treatment plant permits.
Perform daily utility operations and maintain related equipment.
- Oversee training of utility and maintenance employees to ensure understanding of work practices and procedures.
- Propose and attend training for the utility team as needed.
- Monitor and maintain all repairs, supplies, tools, and equipment for efficiency and functionality.
- Monitor boilers, refrigeration, air compressors, and PH of the sewer system.
- Document and read meters (gas, sewer, electric, and water) for accurate reporting to agencies.
Complete inspections of the facility and equipment on a regular basis.
- Notify the maintenance department when repairs are needed; assist in repairs as required.
- Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow all company good manufacturing practices and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Engineering degree preferred
- 4 to 6 years of experience or 4+ years of experience with demonstrated leadership attributes
At least 1st Class B Boiler Engineer License
Preferred Chief B Boiler Engineer License
- Certification and/or License may be required during the course of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and requirements
Knowledge of PSM/RMP and ammonia systems
Knowledge of plant operations and environmental regulations
Skill in performing safety inspections and developing safety procedures
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and prioritize work activities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others
- Proficient in performing preventive, productive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance procedures
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
