The City of Poplar Bluff, Missouri is seeking a City Manager. This position is responsible for managing the overall operations and administration of the city government and will work with city council members, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of municipal services and to implement policies and programs that meet the needs of the community.
Poplar Bluff provides a full range of city services including water, sewer and electric utilities, police, fire, street department, municipal airport, the Black River Coliseum, and the Margaret Harwell Art Museum. The next City Manager will have the exciting opportunity to lead through growth as Highway 67/Future I57 is upgraded from 2-lanes to a 4-lane built to interstate standards and Downtown Poplar Bluff continues to see investment and redevelopment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Five to ten years in municipal government, including supervisory or management roles. Experience as an assistant city manager or department head may be considered.
- Must reside within the city limits of Poplar Bluff within six months of start date.
