We’re people building buildings, businesses and relationshipsSummaryThe Property Accountant will be responsible for all accounting and financial matters related to assigned portfolio of properties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for propertiesPrepare and maintain monthly journal entriesOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations for propertiesMonitor and report daily cash activity for management reviewResponsible for annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliationsPrepare and review annual property budgets and reforecastsCoordinate with external auditors and provide requested information in a timely mannerRegularly collaborate with property management staff on property and tenant related mattersProcess and review lease abstract informationOther ad-hoc projects as requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:1 to 3 years previous accounting experience preferably in real estate or property managementDemonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)Strong attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customersAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceAbility to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goalsAbility to maintain compliance with all company policies and proceduresAbility to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and othersPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Accounting or Business DegreeWork experience in real estate/property managementMRI Real Estate Software experiencePhysical Demands:The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
