Temporary to Permanent Position$28/Hour for first six months then increased once transitioned to permanent employee.The Unlicensed Social Worker/Counselor/Mental Health Clinician provides counseling to patient’s in a variety of settings including medical facilities, hospitals, clinics, learning centers and other organizations that are in need of assistance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provides necessary counseling as required for the patient/clientAssesses the patient/clients’ psychosocial needs, and evaluate the progress with the care team and/or supervisorCollaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate goals for each patient/clientFocuses on assisting patients/clients through the discharge process of both in and out-patient treatment facilities as applicableUtilizes a variety of therapy techniques and treatment plansFacilitates patient progress and referrals with other agenciesAdheres to all Amergis and Facility policies and proceduresObserves and reports patient/client progress per facility protocolPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contract requirementsThe Counselor may possess an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or other Human Development MajorComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
