Location: Newport Beach, CA

Salary: $50.00 USD Hourly - $60.00 USD Hourly

Description:

Our client is currently seeking a Data Engineer II.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with technology and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
2. Build scalable and reliable data pipelines to support data ingestions (batch and/or streaming) and transformation from multiple data sources such as Flat Files, SQL, AWS RDS, S3, etc. and help centralize the information on Snowflake.
3. Hands-on experience in ingestion, transformation, and database technologies. Expertise in SQL, complex query writing, query organization, and optimization.
4. Create unit/integration tests and implement automated build and deployment. Participate in code reviews to ensure standards and best practices.
5. Deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems. Create and update user stories in backlog, participate in agile scrum ceremonies.
6. Collaborate with product owner, analysts, architects, QA, and other team members.

Experience You Will Bring:

1. Minimum 2-year hands-on ETL development experience using DBT.
2. Minimum 4-year hands-on experience working with SQL and Snowflake database.
3. Minimum 1-year hands-on experience (not just training or POC) in using Git and Python.
4. Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaborative environments.

What Will Make You Stand Out:

1. Hands-on experience in ELT development using Matillion (ingestion tool), DBT (transformation tool), and Snowflake (Database technology).
2. Experience working with Azure Dev Ops, Build and Release CI/CD pipelines.
3. Experience working with AWS and Control M.
4. Experience coding complex transformations (not just extract/load mappings) in DBT.

Qualifications:

1. 3-5+ years of data engineering experience.
2. BS Degree: IT or Computer Science or Engineering.

Technical Skills:

Must Have:

1. Minimum 1-year hands-on experience (not just training or POC) in using Git and Python.
2. Minimum 2-year hands-on ETL development experience using DBT.
3. Minimum 2-year hands-on experience working with SQL and Snowflake database.

Nice To Have:

1. Experience coding complex transformations (not just extract/load mappings) in DBT.
2. Experience working with AWS and Control M.
3. Experience working with Azure Dev Ops, Build and Release CI/CD pipelines.
4. Hands-on experience in ELT development using Matillion.
