Business Development Manager Job Description
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is often the first point of contact a potential client will have when seeking information about the consulting services Sure Power provides. BDM's are responsible for building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and industry professionals. BDM's achieve gross-profit targets by accurately gathering client requirements, understanding client procurement policies and procedures, and preparing and presenting accurate and attractive consulting solutions.
Business Development Manager Essential Functions
- Perform warm and cold calling of past, current, and prospective clients.
- Build, manage, and nurture meaningful relationships with past, current, and prospective clients through active listening, needs anticipation, and world-class support.
- Periodic travel to client locations and/or attending industry-related conferences and functions.
- Develop a conversational knowledge of the Power & Utilities industry and key technologies used therein.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of Sure Power's core capabilities, qualifications, and history of consulting services.
- Closely collaborate with inter-office teammates with a Team First' attitude.
- Actively engage with current and proposed consultants to better understand industry trends and technologies, and to develop a comprehensive understanding of client needs and opportunities.
- Accurately and effectively utilize Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications.
- Support clients in all time-zones at their convenience (may require work activity to extend beyond traditional hours).
- Accurately follow established internal policies and procedures related to the preparation and presentation of consulting services proposals and consulting resources.
- Experience in Staffing and/or Professional Services is a plus.
Successful Business Development Managers:
- Must be comfortable speaking with Mid to Senior level Managers.
- Must be outgoing and self-motivated with a strong desire to exceed client expectations and Sure Power performance targets.
- Must have strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask with both focus and discipline.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and public speaking capabilities.
- Must be able to quickly and accurately recall Sure Power qualifications and connect the dots' when introducing our capabilities to current and prospective clients.
- Must be willing and able to participate in Proposal development, including but not limited to the Writing, Review, and/or Submission process.
