Position Summary :

Guerdon LLC is seeking a talented Cost Estimator to join our team. Our ideal candidates will possess prior estimating or costing experience in the commercial/residential construction field. Excellent communication skills, a high level of organization, and strong attention to details are essential. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents, understand product specifications, and engage with project team leaders daily.


Responsibilities/Learned skills will include:

  • Determine project specifications by working with our business development team.
  • Interface with internal departments to understand current specifications, assemblies, and construction methods.
  • Develop cost and scope models for the project.
  • Work with vendors and manufacturer representatives for project quotes.
  • Maintain project costing files.
  • Interact with developers and architects during project pre-construction.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and NetSuite among others.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Finance, Marketing, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in construction estimating preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the residential and commercial construction industry.
  • Maturity, confidence, and ability to gain the respect and trust of customers and subcontractors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing this job's duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and reach, stoop kneel.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required.
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in shared space.
