Our client is an academic Clinical Research Organization (CRO) providing a broad range of clinical research services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, government agencies, and academic investigators globally. Since 2013, our client has provided services to 13 of the top 20 pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the world.

Headquartered in Canada with offices in the United States and Europe, our client offers a multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians, biostatisticians, clinical epidemiologists, information systems specialists, project managers, data managers, and clinical monitors.

Scope of Position

The Chief Executive Officer will own the strategy and drive its execution, providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the organization’s continued global expansion.

Functional Tasks

  1. Provide direction and guidance in partnerships, business development, market growth, global organizational promotion, and new medical research themes.
  2. Initiate the development, implementation, and management of divisional short and long-term goals that align with the organization’s strategic direction.
  3. Oversee the organization’s financial and operational stability and growth, utilizing industry and risk management best practices.
  4. Promote professional behaviors and support the utilization of internal/external resources to ensure organizational goals are met.
  5. Support business development by identifying new global opportunities and partnerships.
  6. Act as primary liaison with the Board of Directors, providing regular reports on the organization’s overall health and progress.
  7. Work with the board and senior management to implement and execute the strategic direction.
  8. Ensure the organization has the necessary human resources and operational capabilities to scale.
  9. Provide ongoing direction and performance management to the executive team.
  10. Remain abreast of industry trends to consider alliance, acquisition, and investment opportunities.
  11. Lead the expansion of the company into new markets.

  2. A management style that leverages team strengths while motivating them to achieve results.
  3. Proven track record of executing on objectives.
  4. Strategically minded executive with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Strong sales and marketing orientation with a track record of accelerating global growth.
  6. Preference for candidates with success in scaling founder-led organizations.
  7. Post-graduate degree and professional designation with a strong medical and/or scientific understanding.
