Director of Marketing and Public Relations (Job# 2024-12)Responsibilities:Directly supervises Marketing Department staff. Sets standards for SCLSNJ communications and messaging with members of the public, elected officials and other stakeholders. Performs duties independently under the guidance of the Library Director working closely with other senior managers.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the provision of marketing and public relations services for SCLSNJ; identifying, implementing, and developing goals for system-wide communication efforts in support of the SCLSNJ strategic plan, community needs, and trends in library service; working in cooperation with the SCLSNJ Executive Team regarding system initiatives, programs, and services; communicating SCLSNJ mission, vision, goals, values, and initiatives directly to staff, customers, government officials, press sources, advisory/foundation boards, and the general public; ensuring all content provides a high degree of consistent quality, tone, and professionalism across all SCLSNJ communications; submitting budget requests and proposals for services and projects; being responsible for staying within budgetary guidelines.Schedule:Will include some evenings and weekends as determined by department or System needs; additional hours may be required with or without advanced notice; ability to attend conferences and meetings that require overnight travel; occasional work outdoors at community events or outreach activities.Only the most qualified candidates, as determined through the screening process, will be invited to participate in the in-person interview process.To be considered, please send a cover letter,resume, and SCLSNJ application , with the job identificationnumber in the subject line.
