A well-established EPC is looking for a Carbon Capture Technology Manager to join their Kansas City office. The Technology Manager will be actively involved with a focused team to support this EPC's efforts in decarbonization and integrating new technologies. This involves understanding and keeping up-to-date with emerging and decarbonization technologies, leading early studies and evaluations, and driving project development initiatives.

Technology Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Contributing to the technical advancement and direction of emerging technology and decarbonization markets.
  2. Establishing and nurturing relationships with technology suppliers within specified markets.
  3. Assisting in managing technical proposal endeavors for opportunities related to emerging decarbonization technologies.
  4. Engaging with customers and stakeholders at all organizational levels, both internally and externally, to identify, comprehend, and promote project and technology implementation objectives.
  5. Understanding economic conditions pertinent to projects, technologies, industries, and markets.
  6. Supporting business development endeavors by identifying and defining opportunities and pursuing new projects.
  7. Cultivating client and team relationships across multiple assigned projects to steer project direction and ensure alignment with client objectives.
  8. Participating in technology oversight for assigned projects from early development stages through detailed design and construction.
  9. Conducting feasibility studies, technology evaluations, and conceptual designs to meet client/project goals.
  10. Keeping up-to-date of market trends and technologies, and providing updates to management to support strategic initiatives and sales efforts.
  11. Establishing and maintaining relationships with potential and existing clients.
  12. Identifying opportunities and supporting business development activities, including preparing proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
  13. Providing technical leadership and representing the company at conferences and seminars through presentations and participation in marketing initiatives.
  14. Mentoring project staff by offering guidance, instructions, and technical expertise.
  15. Traveling as needed for project site visits, trade shows, conferences, client meetings, and supplier engagements.
  16. Collaborating with the Director of Decarbonization and Emerging Technology Strategic Market Development Manager to develop strategic approaches for clients based on market trends, needs, and limitations.

Technology Manager Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering (with a preference for electrical, chemical, or mechanical disciplines) from an accredited program.
  2. 10 years of experience in project development, engineering, and construction.
  3. Previous experience and proven success establishing & maintaining relationships with potential and existing clients.
  4. Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  5. Strong presentation skills.
  6. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  7. Ability to adjust to changing requirements and priorities - learning, understanding, and applying new technologies is required due to the dynamic nature of the energy market.
