Qualifications:
  • Have a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with students and staff, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
  • Be punctual in all assignments.
General Responsibilities:
  • Examine records and transcripts of student to assure that enrollment is completed appropriately to meet student graduation expectations (graduation, requirements, Qualified Admissions, Board of Regents, Division I, Division II, and Division III).
  • Counsel with students to establish a graduation plan to be utilized in meeting graduation requirements.
  • Counsel with students to assist in avoiding conflict within the school setting, assist with academic concerns, and provide resources to students and parents to deal with personal issues.
  • Counsel with students and parents to resolve attendance issues.
  • Participate in student staffing such as IEP or Student Support staffings with parents, teachers, and other appropriate personnel.
  • Schedule and supervise testing.
  • Assist students to locate and apply for scholarships.
  • Assist students to obtain information regarding post-secondary opportunities and to connect with university, college, vocational schools, and other training or career opportunities
  • Report to and advise administration regarding student issues and concerns related to but not limited to scheduling, academics, and school climate issues.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information which is contained in all student records or which is obtained from student or parent contact.
  • Report abuse or suspected abuse.

Physical Requirements Environmental Conditions:
  • Sitting and standing.
  • Repetitive wrist motion.
  • Physical exertion including bending, twisting, and turning.
  • Occasional lifting and moving objects of up to thirty pounds.
  • Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
  • Occasional interaction among unruly children.
