Top Ranked National General Contractor actively seeking a Director of Cold Storage and Food & Beverage Processing.


JOB DESCRIPTION

This Director of Cold Storage and Food & Beverage Processing position will be a Senior Leader Role overseeing Project Managers, business development, and being main point of contact for clients.

Select Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the food and beverage and cold storage division.
  • Lead team coaching and mentoring. Identify gaps and opportunities for coaching, mentoring and training and lead efforts to provide necessary education.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction across all food and beverage accounts.
  • Build client and subcontractor relationships
  • Accept full responsibility for project execution
  • Manage project budgets, work-in-place and earnings forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring profitability while mitigating risks and controlling costs.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Prime contract from the project onset, manage negotiations and administration of contract as needed, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and resolve disputes effectively.
  • Using strong negotiation skills, establish the appropriate purchasing plan, and makes solid and timely decisions for the company and the project during the buyout process.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborating with BD Managers and professionals to secure new projects and expand client base.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to project teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with quality standards.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client, subcontractor and partner relationships, understanding their needs, expectations, and addressing concerns as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, implementing strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain project success. Hold self and others accountable to following critical operational processes and addressing risks head-on.
  • Ensure conformity with contract documents and scope of work, as well as address issues of underperformance if it arises.
  • Responsible for hiring and developing project team members (e.g., Project Managers and Engineers, Superintendents, and others as deemed appropriate).


CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of experience managing construction projects ($50+ million) ideally Design/Build Industrial or Manufacturing projects.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural, or related.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology
  • Business Development Skills essential.
