As the database operations manager, you will maintain the processing system to ensure optimal performance and database integrity, assuring accurate data and resolving conflicts with other agencies under the supervision of the director of financial aid. In this position you will support system testing and the implementation of upgrades and related technology, informing users of the changes. Responsibilities include assisting with new aid year setup, creating reports in Cognos, regularly updating financial aid reports in accordance with any programmatic changes, creating and providing scheduled Cognos reports to other related departments, and providing technical support for applications. In the role of operations manager, you will manage the production calendar and implement the new aid year set up, supporting the algorithmic rules for budgeting, awarding, and disbursement.
In coordination with processing teams, student accounts, and finance, you will run the disbursement of all financial aid funds and report records as required. Duties include balancing all funds as prescribed by their agencies, performing fund returns, aiding in the completion of A-133 and FISAP reports, working with IMT to install necessary upgrades and set up letters or emails in letter generation software, running processes to create FISAP data sheets, coordinating with SFS mass messaging with the student financial information coordinator, and providing support for daily departmental functions.
As the operations manager, you will be expected to manage student viewed data in the Self-Service Banner module and perform Satisfactory Academic Progress reviews for students at the end of each quarter. In this position you will collaborate with internal departments for feedback on academic plans, provide quarterly reports to academic advising for proactive outreach for students, and maintain automated Banner processes with IMT support. Additionally, you will aid the technical team in creating an automated workflow via staff trainings.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience training; or equivalent combination or education and experience
Travel required:
  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
