Leidos is seeking a Load Balance Network Engineer SME to maintain a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. This role is responsible for implementation, operations, and maintenance of load balancer technologies in a global enterprise across multiple networks. Duties include updating to new technologies, tuning performance, and implementation of critical system patches. This infrastructure may include on-premises and cloud resources. This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met for internal and external customers.
Successful candidates must possess the following skills:
- Ensure Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and brokering PKI authentication features provided by the F5 appliance is operational at all times
- Ensure load balancing configurations and PKI certificates are backed up in accordance with customer policies
- Alert load balancing and reverse proxy customers prior to PKI certificate expiration and assist with certificate renewals as necessary
- Create, manage, and troubleshoot load balanced IP address spaces
- Develop and implement technical solutions in collaboration with engineers and architects
- Provide after-hours support to 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with troubleshooting service outages
- Develop and update technical solutions, operating procedures and other documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with initial troubleshooting and triage efforts
Basic Qualifications
- Experienced in administering and managing F5 load balancer appliances in an enterprise environment
- Knowledge of standards, concepts, and tools to be able to complete technology monitoring and management of F5 appliances.
- Technical knowledge backing up PKI certificates and appliance configurations.
- Expertise creating, managing, and troubleshooting load balanced IP address spaces.
- Experience working independently in support of customer requirements
- Experience interfacing with team members on requirements and solutions
- Familiar with IT Service Management products such as ServiceNow
Certifications
- Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
- Candidate must possess an F5 Certified Administrator (201) or higher certification
Education
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, Masters degree with 10 years of experience
- Education equivalency of Associate’s with 14 years of related experience or High School Diploma with 16 years of related experience can be used in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Security Clearance
- Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
- TS/SCI with Poly required for Position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a polygraph.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00
