Excelity is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator for a project responsible for building the next generation Collection Management System for an exciting Government customer with a very critical mission. The candidate will work with the engineering team and customer to ensure successful development of high profile, complex, technical deliverables that are core to the continued success of our award-winning projects.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and install database management systems, including database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation, and configuration management.
  • Use data mapping, mining, and transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
  • Determine data storage and identify optimum storage requirements.
  • Prepare system requirements, source analysis, and process design throughout the database implementation.
  • Evaluate, size, and select technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and application databases.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
  • Implement backup and replication solutions to ensure comprehensive data protection.

Required Skills:

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
  • Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
  • Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
  • Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provision/harden Linux operating systems.
  • Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Must have familiarization with scripting and installing applications from root files. Working knowledge of reviewing of security scans, applying fixes to resolve noted deficiencies and ability to work with and run STIGs via a viewer or other automated tools.

  • Experience working with Agile scrum teams
  • Experience with ElasticSearch
  • Cloud (EC2s, S3, Elasticache), Kafka, Openshift, Docker, Keycloak, Wildfly
  • PKI certificates, SSL, service accounts
  • Maintaining multiple environment types (physical, virtual, cloud)
  • Experience supporting security audits and testing events.
