The Intellectual Property (IP) Docket Analyst is responsible for analyzing incoming mail, including electronic mail, hard copy mail and faxes, and other pertinent data to be entered into the IP Docketing database; runs and clears daily dockets; prepares special reports for attorneys and clients.
Responsibilities
  • Analyzing incoming correspondence related to the prosecution of intellectual property rights, discerning the pertinent information and entering it into the docketing database
  • Reconciling client, foreign agent and attorney correspondence against docketed due dates in order to rectify the daily docket
  • Researching the Code of Federal Regulations, Manual of Industrial Property, Kluwer IP Law and other Intellectual Property resources to resolve complex docketing issues
  • Professional and effective communication with attorneys and staff, to include answering docket related questions
  • Timely preparing customized reports
  • Resolving inaccuracies and other associated requests where applicable
  • Performing all other job related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in IP Docketing required
  • US Patent prosecution knowledge required; foreign and/or trademark prosecution knowledge a plus #LI-Hybrid

Pursuant to the Washington DC Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this Washington DC based position is between $71,200 - $116,200. These figures represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be determined based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
