The hours of operation are Monday- Friday 9:00AM-4:45PM and the office is located in Hempstead, NY. The role reports to the Program Supervisor.Comprehensive benefits package includes:• Medical• Dental• 401K• Vision• Very generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & More.Primary Purpose of Job:The Business Services Representative implements employment strategies that provide skilled employees to businesses and helps job seekers to find work by engaging with businesses.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Perform outreach to employers and business associations (e.g. Chambers of Commerce, IndustryAssociations, etc.) to inform them of business services available at HempsteadWorks2. Assist employers in completing job order forms and promoting their open positions3. Assist employers in the development of job descriptions and training plan through research of O’Net4. Coordinate with employers to host hiring/recruitment events5. Create flyers for events and post them on the HempsteadWorks website6. Collaborate with HempsteadWorks career counselors to identify viable candidates to fill employerpositions7. Promote to employers training programs that include incumbent worker training, customized training,on-the-job training, and internships8. Develop internships and on-the-training9. Monitor businesses to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws10. Provide businesses with information on employment and labor issues, tax credits and financialincentives11. Acquire new business members for the Hempstead/Long Beach Local Workforce Development Board(LWDB)12. Keep record of employer events, number of attendees, and job placements13. Attend staff webinars, workshops, and trainings14. Collaborate with consultants, partners, staff, businesses and business associations to conductsector-based business services15. Provide reports and perform clerical duties, as required16. Make presentations to the LWDB, Youth Standing Committee and other entities17. Conduct surveys and acquire workforce intelligence for grant development and planning purposes18. Represent the LWDB on the Long Island Business Services TeamKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:Bachelors Degree required.1-2 years experience in a similar role.Must have access to automobile and possess valid Driver's License.Excellent customer service skills and ability to foster relationships with businesses.Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
