Summary:
To audit consumer loan files while gathering all documentation, signatures, and calculations required for funding. Open member accounts for new-member applicants and file documents accordingly. To assist members, staff, and any other parties with their loan servicing requests after loans have been booked. Provide clerical and administrative support needed to process loan servicing functions.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  1. Performs administrative tasks related to titles securing the credit union's interest in collateral. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
    • Processing and filing initial title work.
    • Releasing liens for paid off loans.
    • Conducting research.
    • Compiling the bi-monthly Title Report.
    • Frequent travel to and from Title Office and Post Office
  2. Processes loan payoffs and related drafts. Compiles, confirms, and processes the daily Paid Off Report.
  3. Performs administrative tasks related to ancillary loan products, such as credit life & disability, GAP, and extended warranty. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to ensuring policies are issued or cancelled, filing claims, and posting claim payments.
  4. Performs administrative tasks related to the credit union's credit card program. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
    • Issuing new cards and reissuing for lost/stolen cards.
    • Updating member account information.
  • Compiling assigned reports.
  1. Performs administrative tasks related to processing Subsequent Action forms. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
    • Loan modifications, deferments, and due date changes.
    • Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to opening member accounts, processing ACH transactions, scanning documentation, and reconciling the monthly GL Recording Fees report.
  2. Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
Performance Measurements:
  1. Productivity meets the requirements of the position and the department. Utilizes "down time" appropriately, assisting in other tasks and/or increasing knowledge in department/credit union related work.
  2. Ensures all loan documents are present in the loan file and loans are funded in a timely fashion, with minimal errors.
  3. Ensures loan servicing requests are addressed in a in a timely manner, with minimal errors. Any errors are minor and are corrected timely and accurately.
  4. Effectively trains and mentors staff newly assigned to loan funding and servicing responsibilities.
  5. Attains and maintains an effective working knowledge of loan operations responsibilities for which they serve as backup.
  6. Maintains a working knowledge of the Credit Union's loan standards and governmental regulations.
  7. Maintains a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers.
  8. Maintains a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
  9. Completes all required compliance/operations training and abide by credit union and governmental rules and regulations.
  10. Keeps management informed regarding operating issues affecting the department.
Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Experience
    • Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
  2. Education
    • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED
  3. Skills
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, internet, and data-base management
    • Ability to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, and the public.
    • Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. This includes but may not be limited to keyboarding, writing, and filing.
  2. Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
  3. Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 75 pounds for various needs.
  4. The person in this position constantly communicates in person and in writing with members, managers, and colleagues. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  5. The ability to observe details at close range to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
