Tiki Tatsu-Ya is seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. Please note, our kitchen is located in a food trailer connected to the shop. If you're passionate about cooking, have a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you!
Job Description:
As a Line Cook, you will be an integral part of our kitchen, responsible for preparing high-quality dishes and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Your role will include:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items to the highest standards, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Cleaning and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including routine cleaning of equipment and ensuring proper hygiene practices.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular equipment checks, including temperature checks and gasket inspections, and keep kitchen tools and appliances in optimal condition.
  • Station Management: Set up and break down your station efficiently at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Menu Knowledge: Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the menu and ingredients to ensure accurate preparation and presentation.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with management and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and address any issues promptly.
  • Cross-Training: Be adaptable and willing to cross-train and work in multiple kitchen positions as needed.
  • Labeling and Stocking: Properly label, stock, and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety rules in the kitchen, including nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
  • Urgency and Purpose: Work with a sense of urgency and purpose to ensure timely and efficient service.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
  • Ability to handle and clean dishes and kitchen equipment efficiently
  • Knowledge of safety practices related to handling chemicals and maintaining cleanliness
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Must successfully obtain Food Handlers credentials
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures
  • Basic cooking knowledge a plus
  • Must excel in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
