You will join our Water Infrastructure and Climate Adaptation Group
As our new Dams Market lead, you will be part of the Americas Water team, joining an interdisciplinary engineering organization and work alongside engineers, scientists, and resiliency planners to create and deliver innovative and sustainable projects. With our strong brand in Dams work in the Northeast US, and specialty areas in structural, geotechnical, and heavy civil capabilities, your position responsibilities will be to grow the team and develop business that will sustain our core Dams market and expand services in waterfront and coastal resiliency.

Working collaboratively with our US Water team, as well as working with our International teams in Climate Resilience, Building with Nature, and Ports and Marine, your key tasks and responsibilities in this market growth and technical role related to dams, waterfront, heavy civil and coastal services will be:

  • Lead business development efforts to expand market access
  • Lead client development and management for existing and new clients within the public and private markets
  • Bring thought leadership into proposal creation, and lead project planning, fee estimating and execution, quality reviews of proposals
  • Assume a primary role in client contract activities
  • Manage and deliver complex programs related to dams, waterfront, and coastal projects, including technical and fiscal responsibility for respective projects
  • Oversee technical work of structural, geotechnical, heavy civil and coastal engineers
  • Engage in regular liaison with colleagues from other departments and business units to share knowledge and best practices
  • Participate actively in professional societies with the goal of strengthening technical skills, leading branding activities such as presenting technical papers/publications, and further developing and strengthening client relationships
  • Identify and attract junior and mid-level talents and senior experts to grow the collective Dams, Waterfront & Coastal team by additional +10 people by 2025

Your starting point for constant growth

  • From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is in these areas: MS or BS degree in civil engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with licenses in NY, NJ, PA, DE, and VA as a minimum, along with ability to obtain licenses in other states
  • Strong language skills (written and oral), along with strong communication and negotiating skills.

Technical Capabilities
Minimum 20 years of professional experience with a track record in the design and implementation of dams, waterfront and coastal structures, and domain knowledge to act as a subject matter expert in managing and delivering complex projects, in most (if not all) of the following engineering disciplines:

Business Development / Market Growth Skills
Minimum 10 years of experience in new client development, proposal preparation, development of market plans, and client management. Technical society membership (and committee involvement) for networking is also important, primarily with these organizations:

  • USSD (US affiliate of ICOLD)
  • Other technical orgs such as AWRA, NFMA, and DFI

Project Management
Minimum 10 years of experience in managing projects, including budget, schedule, and quality management for multi-disciplinary projects.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include strong business acumen and ability to drive execution on deliverables, being a confident communicator with superior stakeholder management skills and a natural leader able to motivate multidisciplinary teams across geographical borders.
