What You Can Expect
As our Senior Advisor, DG Origination, you will lead the strategy and market analysis for contracting ENGIE’s community solar portfolio. You will develop, mature, and close contracts for power offtake related to our community solar projects across the United States, leveraging your deep knowledge of the factors impacting community solar. In this role, you will collaborate with your team to build relationships with aggregation companies for small C&I and residential offtake, or directly with large C&I and brokers, depending on the market strategy for each portfolio. Your efforts will be crucial in advancing ENGIE’s renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America. This role is based in Chicago, IL, and reports to the Director of DG Renewables Origination.
- Develop and execute offtake strategies for ENGIE’s Community Solar projects, including determining optimal contracting mechanisms, managing customer and aggregator relationships, evaluating bid requests, preparing proposals, negotiating agreements, and driving transactions to closure.
- Collaborate with ENGIE’s project development and delivery teams, ensuring customer-focused project attributes are communicated, and leading internal support teams through complex sales processes to closing.
- Stay informed about community solar opportunities and national industry trends, assessing their impact on the competitiveness and future of community solar projects.
- Manage the Advisor, Community Solar Programs; Sr. Analyst, Community Solar Partnerships; and Intern/VIE, and represent ENGIE at national renewable energy events as a speaker, panelist, and industry leader.
What You’ll Bring
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Organizational Management, Environmental Policy, Political Science, Business, Economics or related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in energy industry; preferably in renewable energy.
- You have a proven record of accomplishment in renewable or community solar origination with a deep network of community solar aggregators, customers, and brokers across the United States.
- You are knowledgeable about Community Solar markets, challenges, and policies, and proficient in structuring, preparing, negotiating, coordinating, and executing community solar agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
- You have the ability to manage and lead a small team, navigating the various aspects of community solar origination with aggregators, customers, and related organizations.
- You possess superior verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- You are a results-oriented leader capable of working independently within a large matrixed organization while effectively interfacing with various cross-functional employee groups.
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy allowing for a mix of remote work and in-office presence.
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
Compensation
Salary Range: $146,300 – $214,390 USD annually. This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus.
