SAIC Senior Cloud Computing Engineer ANDREWS AFB, Maryland

SAIC is seeking a Senior Cloud Computing Engineer with an active Interim Secret clearance to join the Cloud One Digital Engineering Team. This team is responsible for the architecture, engineering and sustainment of AF Cloud Digital Engineering platform currently deployed on AWS Cloud. This work supports the Cloud One Digital Engineering program under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Network Integration (AFLCMC/HNI).

This position is hybrid remote . Candidates may be required to work onsite as needed. Preferred candidates will be located near Gunter AFB (Montgomery, AL), Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA), Andrews AFB or Joint Base Charleston, SC.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Analyze existing system architecture and recommend secure design changes to the Cloud One AWS environment based on project objectives.
2. Develop scripts and workflows as needed for automated deployment (IaC/CaC).
3. Provide oral and written input to design documents, best practice configurations, and test procedures.
4. Execute testing to validate system performance IAW developed test plans and criteria.
5. Recommend improvements to the existing architecture and process to reduce repetitive or time-intensive tasks in favor of automated solutions.
6. Provide experienced input on AWS cloud toolsets and best practices.
7. Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.
8. Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficiencies.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more of experience. Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

Interim Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain Secret clearance required to maintain employment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

1. Demonstrated experience with: AWS, Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole.
2. Experience working with DevSecOps tool chains.
3. Proven experience containerizing applications.
4. Experience Configuring and troubleshooting cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.
5. Hands-on expertise establishing and maintaining SQL and NoSQL databases.
6. Experience preparing technical documentation.
7. Experience working in a team environment with the ability to mentor junior team members.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

1. AWS Cloud Certification with experience as AWS Cloud Engineer.
2. Security+ Certification or equivalent.

DESIRED SKILLS:

1. Experience with Zero trust architectures.
2. Experience with AWS Workspaces or experience deploying VDI solutions to AWS Cloud.
3. Experience with AF Cloud One or Platform 1 development, engineering, operations and sustainment.
4. Experience installing DE tools including Cameo, 3D Experience, DOORS, SPARX, MathWorks, and AFSIM.
5. In-depth understanding of, and experience as a cloud engineer with AWS, Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, storage, Barracuda.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
