About Greenwork
Greenwork helps climatetech companies find and manage their construction contractors. Stopping climate change will require building a massive amount of new, net-zero infrastructure and we want to speed up that process. We use data to give our customers a clear picture of the contractor landscape and build outreach tools to help them connect with, onboard, and support contractors so they can build faster in more places.
We're a values-driven company with a mission to lead the transition to a low-carbon world by connecting the skilled trade workforce to the most impactful projects. We’re a Y-Combinator-backed, seed-stage company with happy customers and over 4 years of runway.
The Inflation Reduction Act, passed in August 2022, creates huge economic incentives for clean energy and electrification, but also new compliance burdens. We're working with our customers to help them thrive under the new legislation.
Greenwork’s founders, Sam and Gautam, have founded companies before, and collectively have backgrounds in clean energy, software engineering, and energy policy.
The Role
Join us as the first business hire at Greenwork! Your work will fight climate change, bring new technologies to the construction industry, and create high-quality blue-collar jobs! You'll be a key player in building our business development function, with plenty of room for career growth as our startup expands. You'll help define our sales process, build the pipeline of potential customers, and grow the Greenwork brand among top companies in climatetech.
As an early employee, you will have wide-ranging responsibilities, from shaping strategy around product positioning and pricing, to provisioning customer success and growing our contractor community.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage a sales process. You will develop and iterate on a sales process that can scale to success, with a focus on funnel optimization. This will involve identifying new sales prospects and prioritizing them to achieve ambitious sales targets.
- Conduct sales meetings with potential customers. You will both lead the charge and find deep support from the founders on your sales efforts. We expect that you will become an expert in customer needs discovery, demos of Greenwork, and closing the sale with a pricing and support model that benefits both the customer and Greenwork.
- Create a method to your madness (using technology and metrics!). This will involve building and maintaining sales dashboards, as well as expanding our capabilities on Hubspot, our CRM.
- Work with the team to generate and refine sales materials: presentations and decks, case studies, website copy, and contract language.
- Serve as the “voice of the customer” and the “voice of the contractor” in team strategy and product conversations.
- Build relationships with specialty contractors to learn about their needs, pitch them on working with our customers, and build a community of Greenwork-friendly contractors.
- As an early startup employee, you will likely help out with additional things. :)
