SLSCO, LP seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Sr. Project Accountant to manage financial processes related to a major, multi-billion-dollar construction project in New York City. This role will focus on billing, client invoicing, and overall project accounting administration for one of the most prominent construction companies in the industry.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with project managers, the finance team, and clients to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely invoicing, and efficient handling of billing procedures. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in accounting systems, and the ability to manage large-scale project financials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and issue accurate client invoices in accordance with the contractual terms of a high-profile, multi-billion-dollar project.
  • Monitor project budgets, track billable hours and expenses, and ensure proper project costing.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure billing milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain and update billing systems, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Provide regular project financial status reports, including actual vs. budget analysis for this large-scale construction project.
  • Reconcile project accounts and resolve discrepancies related to project billing and expenses.
  • Maintain project-related records, contracts, and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and client agreements.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and audits related to project financials.
  • Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries, payment terms, and outstanding balances.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project accounting, with a focus on billing and invoicing, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team collaboration.
Physical Demands:
  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
