Eventide Sheyenne Crossings is currently seeking a Director of Life Enrichment to plan, develop, manage, and evaluate the overall Life Enrichment and Volunteer Services programs within the campus.

Life Enrichment programming stimulates the residents and tenants physically, mentally and socially following standards determined by local, state and federal regulations and guidelines to ensure the highest quality of life and care possible. The Director of Life Enrichment will provide direction, coordination, and consultation for all volunteer service programs within the organization, such that the organization will derive full benefit from the important resources available to it through a consistently well-managed team of volunteers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages and directs the overall operation of the Life Enrichment and Volunteer Services departments. This involves oversight and management of programming and processes for residents and tenants at varying levels of physical, mental, and social abilities to meet individual needs.
  • Exhibits positive customer service skills and relations with volunteers, residents, tenants, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Is responsible for the overall Life Enrichment documentation process including oversight of records, which may include, but is not limited to, MDS, care plans, attendance tracking, goals, quarterly notes, hospitalization reviews, discharge summaries, and initial assessments.
  • Attends care conferences as needed in conjunction with resident care team for each resident.
  • Establishes, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures relating to Life Enrichment and Volunteer Services.
  • Plans and maintains budgets for Life Enrichment and Volunteer Services.
  • Ensures and provides initial and as-needed training for staff and activity volunteers and makes recommendations for continued education of the staff to promote quality of life and care.
  • Monitors and supervises all Life Enrichment staff according to established policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluates staffing needs and maintains adequate staffing levels. Assists in hiring new employees as needed.
  • Is responsible for job performance appraisals, any disciplinary actions, and termination of employment. All terminations will be reviewed by the Executive Director and the Human Resources department.
  • Evaluates the volunteer services needs of the campus by working closely with other department directors.
  • Recruits interviews, selects, places and evaluates volunteers to meet the organization’s needs. This may include elementary and high schools, college student programs, community service organizations, senior volunteers, and others.
  • Develops and supervises volunteer orientation, training, and performance evaluation to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
  • Directs the development of appropriate recognition, retention, and motivation programs for volunteers.
  • Maintains appropriate volunteer personnel records and reports to document volunteer services and hours.
  • Establishes and maintains good relationships with professional peers and participates in relevant continuing education programs to enhance professional growth.
  • Serves on committees internally and throughout the community as needed or requested. Available for public speaking on Volunteer Services at Eventide.
  • Provides written communications to newsletters, press releases, volunteer center publications, colleges, churches, etc., as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Long-term care life enrichment/ activities experience is preferred.
