The Arcadia Educational Foundation (AEF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1981 to raise funds for the Arcadia Unified School District (AUSD) in response to reduced state and federal funding for California public schools. AEF organizes the annual summer school program for the AUSD community, offers teacher grant and multiple community grants in support of the District.
Role Description
We are searching for one to two Middle School Conversational Mandarin Teacher for the summer of 2025. The in-person classes will be held at a middle school site in Arcadia, CA. The position involves creating lesson plans, teaching CONVERSATIONAL Mandarin, encouraging interest in both the Mandarin language and the Chinese culture.
Tentative Dates: 6/11/2025 ~ 7/17/2025 (Monday ~ Thursday)
Tentatively 3 morning classes
Qualifications
- Experience in Lesson Planning and Teaching Mandarin
- Strong Communication skills
- Background in Education and Teaching preferred but not required
- Ability to engage middle school students effectively
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese
- Understanding of cultural nuances and language nuances
- Fun, confident, and creative personality
