Description

The role of this Project Manager (PM) is to support industry-sponsored genomic research collaborations for the Institute for Precision Health (IPH). The PM will be responsible for the management, coordination, and implementation of Institute for Precision Health (IPH) projects, in alignment with the strategic goals of the program. The PM responsibilities include the coordination and completion of assigned projects on time, within budget and scope. The PM will establish timelines, monitor and summarize progress, and develop status reports for management. It will be important for the PM to have some knowledge about the goals of the projects while tracking details, identifying areas of risk and resolving issues in a timely fashion.

The PM functions with a high level of independence in consultation with and under the guidance of the IPH Sr. Program Manager. This individual will serve as the liaison between the IPH leadership and the implementation teams to ensure scope, goals, milestones, budget, risk, status, change requests, and critical issues are effectively implemented. The PM will also create project management processes specific to the IPH research programs. The PM will collect feedback on potential improvements and discuss information and opportunities with the IPH Senior Program Manager.

  • This is a full-time contract position that may convert to career.

Salary Range: $83,800.00 – 179,400.00 Annually


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in biobehavioral sciences, public health or related industry
  • A Minimum of five (5) years’ experience leading and managing projects
  • Significant knowledge of project planning/scheduling tools (for example, Microsoft Project and Open Workbench), with solid track record of practical application
  • Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework
  • Knowledge of various project management methodologies (e.g., agile/scrum)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet set deadlines, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to function efficiently and independently, and make important decisions under pressure

Preferred:

  • PMP Certification
