We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join the National Retail Property Management Finance team in Chicago. Our ideal candidate will bring attention to detail, core accounting skills, curiosity, and a research mindset. This is a deadline-driven position that will focus on accounts receivable, expenses, and property portfolio data and setup.
This team member will interact daily with the retail property management business and client accounting group to improve the accounts receivable process, ensure accurate reporting data in the portfolio, and provide commentary on expenses. This includes reviewing the general ledger, researching cash receipts, handling ad-hoc requests from the business, and managing multiple deadlines throughout the month. Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Retail PM Finance team member and business partner
- Ensure accounts receivable objectives and metrics are met, and oversee maintenance and research on AR over 30 days past due
- Coordinate with the business operations and internal client accounting to resolve invoicing and other issues
- Maintain property data workbook, including new setups and portfolio changes
- Assist in monthly close process, ensuring all financial details are recorded properly in the correct period and all required control processes are followed
- Assist in monthly and ad-hoc reporting for local leadership
- Support variance analysis for month-end close, which could include supporting consolidating ME commentary, revenue schedules, labor reports, and expense review
- Assist in producing timely and accurate monthly financial statements and provide variance analysis on information which could include supporting revenue schedules, labor reports, and expense review
- Assist in accounts payable process as needed, including setting up speedcharts as needed and ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate guidelines
- Assist in the creation of the annual financial plan and quarterly forecasts
- Special projects and other functions as required by manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand the big picture
- Flexible and adaptable to tasks assigned
- Able to work with a variety of customers, including sales professionals, business leadership, and client accounting
- Self-starter with the ability to excel in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including vlookups, pivot tables, etc)
- Prior PeopleSoft and/or real estate experience is a plus
