Location: US Based Home Office (Remote)

Status: Full Time; Exempt (IC4/B7)

Start Date: Immediate

Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000

Facing History & Ourselves is seeking internal applicants for the newly created position of Director of Sales Operations, Growth and Development. Reporting to the Chief Officer, the Director of Sales Operations will be responsible for managing and developing systems and processes that support Facing History’s partnership development, sales, and overall growth of our fee-for-service products.

This role will lead design sprints, develop guides and best practices, and design internal trainings for staff around this work. As a key member of the team, the Director will be responsible for departmental sales goals, progress towards goals, as well as designing ideas and solutions when needed.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  1. Lead the development of operational systems and processes to support partnership development, sales, and growth of Facing History's fee-for-service products.
  2. Work closely with the Chief Officer, Growth & Engagement, the Director of District Partnerships, and the Director of School Partnerships to reach earned income goals.
  3. Develop communication and clear processes around our earned income work. Support staff in adopting and implementing standardized processes.
  4. Plan and facilitate sales and prospect review meetings.
  5. Collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization to maintain communication, develop shared systems and processes, and ensure smooth handoffs and aligned decision-making.
  6. Develop fluency with CRM and project management tools and support team members’ use of these platforms to improve visibility, communication, and tracking of data.
  7. Create reports and other documentation to show progress toward earned income goals.
  8. Work with external partners and consultants to advance goals as needed.

Experience & Requirements

  1. Minimum of 7-10 years of sales and operational experience; fast-paced startup environment preferred.
  2. Strong commitment to Facing History’s mission and work; basic knowledge of our content and pedagogical approaches; demonstrates interest and willingness to learn more.
  3. Proven experience in successfully developing and implementing new processes.
  4. Ability to provide guidance and support to various team members, keeping shared vision and goal at the forefront.
  5. Comfort with providing training and creating documentation.
  6. Knowledge of the education market or demonstrates interest in learning more.
  7. Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships across an organization and move projects forward through uncertainty.
  8. Ability to balance attention to detail with strategic thinking.
  9. Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and a learning mindset.
  10. Exceptional organizational skills and adaptive to daily changing environment.
  11. Ability to hold the big picture of departmental and organizational goals, while doing hands-on work.
