JPMorganChase Benefits team is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Associate Medical Director to impact our U.S. Health and Wellness Center operations and contribute to the strategic growth of employee health programs that support over 180,000+ U.S. employees. Based in New York, NY, this position demands a unique blend of medical expertise, exceptional leadership, and a keen business acumen.

As the Associate Medical Director, you will support the Global Corporate Medical Director in delivering and advancing a comprehensive employee health strategy. It is anticipated that this position will provide opportunity for advancement within the department.

The role will primarily include co-leadership, oversight, and ongoing evaluation of 21 U.S. Health and Wellness Centers as well as the overall U.S. Health Services agenda.JPMorganChase Health and Wellness Centers are onsite ambulatory clinics located within 21 of our U.S. corporate campuses across 8 states, employinga matrixed team of 50 full-time RNs and 50 contracted advanced practice providers (Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners). In this dynamic, collaborative leadership role, the incumbent will demonstrate a rare combination of clinical excellence and proven business acumen. You will leverage your deep clinical expertise to guide strategic decision-making, while also driving operational success in a multi-faceted healthcare environment.

Job responsibilities

  • Participate in policy and program development, strategic planning, and implementation of the standards of practice for all U.S. domestic sites. This individual will contribute to firmwide wellness strategies with the potential to impact 180,000+ U.S. employees and have the opportunity to advise the global benefits team/partners to review and refine offerings for an additional 125,000+ international employees. Passion about employee experience is a must!
  • Oversee and implement comprehensive employee health programs for180,000+ U.S.-based employees
  • Partner on global strategies that serve 125,000+ international employees and work with International Benefits team to confirm compliance with local health regulations
  • Assist in the identification of emerging workplace health risks in the employee population and identify opportunities for mitigation
  • Working alongside the Health Services Leadership Team, provide clinical leadership (oversight, education, and assessment) for U.S. Health and Wellness Center medical staff, including 50 full-time RNs and 50 contract physicians, advanced practice providers and corporate health nurses
  • Work with the Global Head of Benefits, Head of Global Wellness, and Head of U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy to provide strategic support, advisement, and participation in the development of the Company's health and wellness agenda (e.g., special projects, benefits design, health improvement strategies). This may include medical initiatives that address population health (e.g., GLP-1, BP programs, etc.)
  • Co-lead Health and Wellness Center operations; the individual will play a primary role in assessing the quality, fit and cost effectiveness of all Provider and operational contracts/relationships - challenging the norm and working directly with Sourcing, Business Management and Suppliers’ leadership and administrators; Analyze Wellness Center utilization and manage associated clinical budgets whereby, optimizing the Firm’s investments in these clinics
  • Provide ongoing guidance to Regional Nurse Managers and local Supervisors
  • Work with JPMorganChase-designated health care providers to maintain a network of quality physician service contracts in the major areas in which we operate
  • Maintain and enforce diligent audit strategies to ensure regulatory compliance across operations and applicable supplier relationships
  • Advise and interface with cross-functional teams/groups to provide guidance on workplace accommodation program, safety and environmental issues, human resource matters, emergency response strategies and/or other related matters that may involve HR, legal, Security and outside medical providers
  • Provide direct clinical support to JPMorganChase Leadership and employees, as needed; Provide health consultation to management and other individuals needed within the Company, such as providing clinical advice and immediate referral/navigation assistance when necessary for complex employee cases
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for occupational medicine, public and environmental health issues and actively participate in problem-solving for the firm

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • M.D. or D.O. degree, active U.S. medical license (ability to be licensed to practice medicine in NY and NJ)
  • Board Certification in a primary care specialty: Occupational Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine
  • Management/leadership experience within a large corporate, military or healthcare industry is required
  • Minimum of 5 years practicing in Occupational Health, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Department or Ambulatory Care settings
  • Superior clinical judgement, leadership skills and demonstrated ability to manage a group of healthcare and allied healthcare professionals
  • Proven ability to develop business assessment and proposal for program/resources required for improving employee health and wellness (e.g., analysis of the problem, evaluating solution approaches, develop proposal, RFP vendor source, including identifying and presenting measures of success for initiatives)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop rapport with a range of disciplines and to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and disciplines
  • Innovative and self-motivated; proactive and focused on solutions
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to develop strategic plans, be responsive to questions and issues, promote ideas and negotiate solutions in a manner that promptly addresses medical and business concerns
  • Client-focused; ability to listen to customer issues and needs, ask probing questions, and draw upon professional knowledge to provide advice
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present to groups, both internally and externally. Important to be able to distill complex clinical concepts or background into concise layman terms and guidance summaries

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • MBA or Master's Degree in Healthcare Management preferred: A strong understanding of healthcare business principles and practices
  • Experience with large, multinational employer benefits programs, and business continuity plan (BCP) response to health issues is a plus
  • Prior Medical Review Officer (MRO) training is a plus
