The position is located at ourHenderson, NVManufacturing Facility. Associate Controls & Automation Engineer We are looking for a creative, collaborative and results driven Associate Controls & Automation Engineer to work in tandem with the Controls & Automation Engineer. This position will provide project and manufacturing floor support to our beverage manufacturing/packaging facility. The successful candidate will assist in evaluating and selecting automation hardware/software to meet current and future needs. The day in the life of a Controls & Automation Engineer:
  • Provides input to managing the controls and automation systems testing, quality control, data retrieval and training for packaging and processing equipment.
  • Assists in managing the controls and automation interface, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment.
  • Assists with the development and modification of PLC & HMI programs.
  • Provides project engineering support to process areas of the beverage plant facilities.
  • Supports the implementation of facility control system standardization and process improvement tasks.
  • Provides controls support for the manufacturing facility and assist plant mechanics in troubleshooting.
  • Ensures documentation for control/electrical system and document change control procedures.
  • Assists with the development and management of controls related capital projects.
  • Contributes to determination and maintainability of new process control systems and manage process controls change control procedures for existing equipment.
What you will need to know:
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or 3 years of related experience.
  • Food and beverage or pharmaceutical experience a plus.
  • Perform Electrical Troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, MicroLogix and ControlLogix hardware
  • Knowledge of RSLogix5, RSLogix500, and RSLogix5000 software
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and program PLCs, VFDs, HMIs and Vision Systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Ethernet, Remote I/O and DeviceNet communication networks
  • General knowledge of National Electrical Code, a plus
  • Read electrical schematics and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's)
  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Office)
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
  • Capable of working on multiple projects and prioritizing workload
  • Able to work cross-functionally in team environment and at various organizational levels
