PURPOSE OF POSITION
Are you passionate about quality and driven by the pursuit of excellence? As a Quality Engineer at Press-Seal, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your expertise in ISO standards and the 8D problem-solving process will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the functions of the Metrology Lab, develop and implement quality systems, and lead corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate gage calibrations and documentation.
2. Develop Control Plans and Work Instructions as required to support production processes.
3. Serve as part of an Internal Auditor team for ISO 9001:2015 Systems and conduct audits as required.
4. Identify non-conformance trends, develop and administer investigation and initiate corrective and preventive actions to resolve recurring quality issues.
5. Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality expectancy of finished products.
6. Work with cross-functional teams to develop process improvement plans utilizing Quality/Continuous Improvement Tools including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SPC, DOE, etc.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills:
1. Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and tools such as CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
2. Strong understanding of measurement techniques and metrology principles.
3. Familiarity with electronic document management systems (EDMS) and quality assurance software.
Soft Skills:
1. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a systematic approach to troubleshooting complex issues.
2. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
3. Strong leadership qualities with experience in supervising and mentoring junior team members.
Adaptability: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines effectively.
Education: Bachelor's degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in quality engineering roles, with a strong focus on:
1. Conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why analysis, and Cause-Effect diagrams.
2. Leading and facilitating cross-functional teams in problem-solving initiatives to resolve quality issues effectively and prevent recurrence.
3. Performing internal audits and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
4. Managing document control processes, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
5. Overseeing calibration programs for equipment and tools, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
6. Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience desired, but not required.
