Overview:

Performs Holter Monitoring on patients to record and analyze variations in heart muscle electrical activity. Maintains reports and records of procedures for diagnostic purposes.

The Holter Lab manages the processing and hookups or mailouts of the Holter, Patch, Events Looping and Non-looping and MCTs Monitors.

Contacts physicians to communicate important findings when indicated.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of patient for all facets of mobile cardiac monitoring.
  • Skin preparation, application of electrodes, instructs patients in test requirements, use of equipment, completion of diary, mailouts, etc.
  • Scanning or uploading of mobile cardiac monitoring data. Immediately notifies physician(s) of life-threatening arrhythmias, prior to review by EP physician.
  • Act as liaison between Cardiac monitoring vendors and Holter Monitor medical staff.
  • Schedule in EMR all cardiac monitoring orders.
  • Registering of patients with various vendors.
  • Maintain office/medical supply inventories.
  • Compilation of monthly statistics.
  • Maintains knowledge of latest mobile cardiac monitoring technology.
  • Assists medical staff in varied research projects involving arrhythmia analysis, heart rate variability, ischemia and sudden death. Coordinates research analysis with electrophysiology studies.
  • Assisting Doctors or Healthcare workers with orders, preliminaries, or basic questions they may have.
  • Responding to multiple faxes, voicemails, emails from different vendors, Providers, and outside referrals.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma.
  • Knowledge with interpretation of basic cardiac arrhythmias and medical terminology.
  • Strong communication and typing skills.
  • Knowledge of Universal Precautions.
  • Knowledge of basic practice office systems.
  • CRAT certification preferred.
