This company are looking to add to their Denver team and are hiring for a Relay Settings Engineer.


The ideal candidate is someone who is looking for an organisation where they can progress and has a desire for culture involvement within their working environment. For the perfect candidate the company will be open to discuss whether this position will be remote or hybrid.


This candidate will have experience and take on the following responsibilities:

  • Develop/manage relay settings for SEL, GE, ABB, etc.
  • Conduct short circuit and coordination studies with CAPE/ASPEN.
  • Analyze relay mis-operations using Wavewin and SEL SynchroWave.
  • Perform arc flash analysis with ETAP.
  • Create/review NERC compliance reports (PRC-019, PRC-005, PRC-025, PRC-026, PRC-027, etc.).
  • Oversee relay settings projects for Wide Area Coordination and generators.
  • Use engineering software for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, load flow, and short circuit studies.
  • Apply NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
  • Coordinate project activities with engineers and clients, ensuring project schedules are maintained.
  • Perform relaying, lighting, load flow, and short circuit analysis.
  • Use document management systems and adhere to corporate engineering practices.
  • Occasionally visit job sites with a supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education & Skills:

  • Recognize relay one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Willing to travel up to 10%.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency and attention to detail.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: 4+ years of related industry experience.
