Mission

The Exclusive Paving Internship program is designed to educate the candidate (current college student) about the different aspects of the construction business and manufacturing of aggregates. We are seeking a dynamic Safety Intern to join our crew and advance the success of our projects; our dynamic internship program, spans from May to August, offering rotations across diverse locations and projects, facilitating hands-on experience in Safety Management.
As an intern, you will shadow our Safety Manager to ensure a secure and safe work environment for all employees involved in road construction projects, asphalt manufacturing plants, and our quarries. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management within the construction industry.
Safety Interns support safety and health management policies to include inspections, audits, recordkeeping, and adherence to regulatory standards such as OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, FMCSA and state/local regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a strong environment of safety awareness.
  • Maintain Goal Zero program, conduct Toolbox Talks, and lead safety meetings.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Manage claims, support continuous improvement projects.
  • Contribute to planning annual Safety training.
  • Oversee compliance inspections, lead Monthly Safety meetings.
  • Assist in Continuous Process Improvement Projects and support environmental initiatives.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program such as Technical Management, Occupational Safety Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Work closely with the Safety Managerto understand our safety program and the importance of Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) & Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.
  • Handling critical or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Must be self-motivated, set obtainable goals and execute them.
Skills
  • Motivated and eager learner, ability to grow and develop within the field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills with ability to calculate and analyze data.
  • The ability to work well with all levels of the organizations.
  • High degree of problem-solving skills.
