Position Overview

The HR Manager will play a crucial role in managing and executing HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and payroll administration. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in the HR field, with a strong background in the entertainment industry. Experience in entertainment payroll and a proven ability to attract and retain top talent are essential. Connections within the entertainment industry are a significant plus.


Responsibilities


Recruitment and Onboarding:


  1. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the entertainment industry.
  2. Have strong outreach with talent agencies to retain top talent from the entertainment industry.
  3. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  4. Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline to meet the company’s current and future staffing needs.

Employee Relations:


  1. Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  2. Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  3. Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication and a culture of respect and inclusion.

Performance Management:


  1. Support managers in the development and implementation of performance management processes.
  2. Provide guidance on goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development.
  3. Assist in identifying training and development needs and coordinate relevant programs.

Payroll Administration:


  1. Oversee and manage the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with entertainment industry standards.
  2. Coordinate with finance and accounting departments to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  3. Stay updated on industry-specific payroll regulations and best practices.

HR Compliance:


  1. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  2. Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation.
  3. Conduct regular audits to ensure HR practices align with legal requirements and company policies.

Operations:


  1. Ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the office, including managing office supplies, equipment, and facilities.
  2. Coordinate with building management and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
  3. Develop, update, and enforce office policies and procedures to maintain a productive and organized work environment.
  4. Ensure office operations comply with relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Oversee the maintenance and functionality of office technology and software, coordinating with IT support as necessary.
  6. Manage relationships with office vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service quality.
  7. Organize and coordinate office events, meetings, and team-building activities to foster a positive workplace culture.

Requirements


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 7-10 years of HR experience, with a focus on the entertainment industry.
  3. In-depth knowledge of entertainment payroll processes and regulations in multiple states.
  4. Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition.
  5. Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  8. Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software.
  9. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  10. Experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  11. Familiarity with labor unions and collective bargaining agreements in the entertainment industry.
