Job Description

H2M Architects + Engineers , a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm seeks a Forensics Department Manager to join our team in our Wall, NJ or Melville, NY office. As our Forensics department continues to grow and expand throughout NY, NJ and the PA region, we are looking for a dynamic Departmental Manager to manage the Forensics Engineering team. Responsibilities include managing day to day staffing, financial performance of the team’s projects, review of work products such as reports or drawings and to oversee our client relationships. Successful candidates will also be supporting H2M’s management in expanding the Forensic insurance market presence in New Jersey and Pennsylvania through business development efforts and various strategies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior leadership to oversee and manage departmental responsibilities including financial performance (such as budgeting, financial issues, bad debt, WIP and AR), recruiting, hiring of staff, engagement of staff, training of staff and overall growth of the department.
  • Develop, support and implement marketing strategies with efforts to achieve growth in the overall forensic services service line.
  • Develop plans and implement with the leadership team to improve profitability, enhance services and strengthen relationships with existing and new clients, with a focus on the Insurance Market.
  • Drive the H2M value proposition and ensure that clients are aware of the complete array of H2M services available.
  • Represent H2M at meetings and conferences, both during and outside normal working hours, to enhance the exposure of H2M to clientele.
  • Evaluate and be a direct contributor to the successful financial performance of the Department and Discipline.

Client Engagement:

  • Build and grow relationships and secure work with new clientele with a specific focus on forensic services.
  • Dedicated point of contact for existing clients, foster client loyalty and ensure client needs are met.
  • Serve as trusted advisor from the Department to Market Leaders and business development team by acting as the liaison between the client and management. Provide valuable market intelligence and assist the leadership team in obtaining a competitive advantage.
  • Ensure clients are engaged through implementation of best practices.
  • Develop strategic links with the client to explore the possibility of utilizing other service lines of H2M.
  • Identify and maintain regular contact with key clientele.

Staff Management/Engagement:

  • Support new and existing business initiatives working with leadership team and managers.
  • Supervise staff and manage day to day work responsibilities.
  • Responsible for employee training, professional development and overall engagement.
  • Support corporate initiatives and be responsible to assist the management team with communicating all corporate information to staff.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Manage and expand relationships with other managers throughout the firm. Assist with daily objectives of superior client communication and service.
  • Collaborate with the Forensic Department leadership team to ensure client engagement and implementation strategies are integrated within the business plans.
  • Support development of marketing strategies by working closely with the business development team.
  • Promote and exemplify commitment to the highest levels of professional conduct, ethical responsibility and H2M’s core values and provide guidance and an example for others to follow.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10 plus years of relevant forensics experience in the insurance market, engineering/forensic engineering, environmental consulting or closely related field.
  • Ability to develop strategic client relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading employees in related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and capable of managing a variety of concurrent objectives.
