Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join the team who will work in our Anchorage office. The Staff Accountant position is responsible for preparing and recording journal entries, account reconciliations and detailed reports. Join a dynamic team that will also assist with month end close, audits and special projects. This position will work under the supervision of the Assistant Corporate Controller.

Main Responsibilities & Essential Duties

  1. Daily tracking and analysis of cash position
  2. Involvement with developing weekly cash forecasts
  3. Maintenance of new supplier and customer files
  4. Fixed asset accounting and reconciliation
  5. Lease accounting and reconciliation
  6. Banking and balance sheet reconciliation
  7. Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities alongside Assistant Controller to include journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  8. Prepare, review, and analyze financial information to ensure integrity
  9. Participate in external and internal audits, as required.
  10. 1099-MISC and fuel tax reporting
  11. Ad hoc projects and additional financial reporting as needed.


Education & Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other applicable field
  2. At least 2 years of accounting work experience, preferably in the construction/manufacturing industries.
  3. Knowledge of GAAP including Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting standards
  4. Capability to easily use Microsoft Windows and MS Office suite, particularly Outlook and Excel (intermediate level). Experience with JDE, Sage, Timberline, or other enterprise construction industry software is a plus
  5. Highly motivated, positive, professional, organized, diligent, and an effective communicator
