Inside the Role
New Truck Pricing (NTP) is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent transaction pricing methodology across the US and Canada in support of our field sales team for both Freightliner and Western Star.
The Transaction Council Pricing Manager is responsible for leading a team responsible for creating the pricing strategy alongside Sales for our Top Fleet accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for all Top Fleet New Truck deals and make sure they are ready and aligned for presentation to DTNA's CEO, CFO and Sr. VP of Sales during Transaction Council (TC) as well as managing Sales Proposal Workflows (SPW). The ideal candidate for this highly visible role will be a leader that thrives in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment with Sales, New Truck Controlling, DTR, ASP, DTFS, Parts, Service, and CSG. Additionally, the successful candidate must be passionate about leading and developing people to top performance. Lastly, the successful candidate will be a culture and inclusive driven leader. Successful execution of the role will require a candidate who is adept at driving business results with a financial mindset as well as a candidate with high level of attention to detail while connected with all stakeholders.

Position offers a starting salary range of $121,500.00 - $155,500.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA:
  • Coach and develop your team members to help them develop in their current role but also to gain the skills and insights required for those roles they may aspire to later in their careers.
  • Collaborate with sales and finance executives in the creation of transaction pricing proposals which optimally balance the needs of the sales team and the customer with the interests of DTNA.
  • Collaborate closely with all departments that has a stake on a New Truck deal to make sure the strategy and direction are all aligned prior to TC/SPW.
  • Ensure that all documents and transactions presented at TC/SPW are 100% accurate and correct when presented.
  • Ensure that the details of all transactions are documented correctly, receive the appropriate approvals, and are communicated to the proper DTNA stakeholders (National/Regional Accounts, Controlling, DTR, ASP, DTFS, Parts, Service, CSG, and Accounting).
  • Responsible for managing pre-season Sales meetings and preparation of the materials; work closely with ASP and NT Controlling to develop the strategy for the meeting.
  • Set strategic direction and vision for the TC transaction pricing team while working with Director of Pricing and Order Acquisition to drive evolutionary change in pricing strategy and market analysis.
  • Analyze market conditions and trends by reviewing information such as win rates, concession discretion trends across regions and brands, price realization data, and discussions with field personnel.
  • Analyze and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data to develop compelling pricing strategy for On-Highway/Vocational Sales team prior to TC.
  • Collaborate with the Retail Pricing team to integrate strategies into desired short- and long-term corporate objectives.
  • Assist in pricing automation and develop models to streamline pricing processes within the Transaction Pricing team.
  • Assist in new EV pricing options and new markets exploration.
  • Help develop reports that accurately measure the ability of field sales to follow desired pricing strategies; create data metrics on Price increase Year-Over-Year, Model Year Collection Year-Over-Year
  • Support NTP Director manage field sales pricing performance and price realization trends between districts and brands.
  • Support sales management in making concessions decisions with analysis of any special program proposals.
  • Assist sales team in growing the market share and improving RoS.
  • Support all IT related projects for NTP, including NTP Digital and Pricing Blue Sky.
Knowledge You Should Bring:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university and 6+ years of related experience OR Master's Degree with 4+ years experience required
  • Be customer focused and driven to win

  • Have a positive attitude and be an outstanding team player
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills (including presentation skills), a can do attitude, and an ability to focus and get things done in high pressure situations.

  • Must have desire and ability to learn quickly, effectively prioritize, problem solve and manage complexity, and consistently meet proposal deadlines independently required.
  • Able to demonstrate advanced analytical, critical thinking and organization skills, and attention to detail required.
  • Very attentive to details and will have significant work experience in financial analysis, planning, or reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel required.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have:
  • Previous people management experience (directly or indirectly) is preferred
  • 3-5 years related industry experience including: pricing, costing, proposal development, project management, financial or business analysis, or customer or dealer support preferred.
