Chronicle Books is looking for a Distribution Client Account Manager to manage a portfolio of book, stationery, gift and/or toy distribution clients. The person in this role will serve as the primary liaison between our Sales department and our clients, driving and monitoring business results while aligning clients with all business processes, and ensuring delivery of the highest standard of service.

The Distribution Client Account Manager will drive client business results including new product introductions, identify title, format, and channel performance gaps, and develop tactics/tools for our Sales account managers. They will expand the client’s overall market penetration, analyze account/channel performance, and partner with Sales for best placement and new sales opportunities. In addition, they will drive the client's key initiatives, advise on inventory quantities and timing, and track sell-in progress against goals. As the primary champion for the client's business objectives, they will advise on inventory levels/reprints, lead bi-weekly conference calls, provide routine business analysis, quarterly executive business reviews, and meet overall quantitative needs as requested.

Employees at Chronicle Books follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 3 days per week and up to 4 days per week in our San Francisco office, depending on project and business needs. Hiring Salary Range - $68,000/yr - $78,200/yr. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.

Requirements

Candidates should have 2+ years of client or Account Management experience in the book, gift, or stationery industry with strong analytical skills, brilliant problem-solving abilities, and be able to switch from tactical to strategic thinking quickly and with ease. They will possess excellent communication and presentation skills and exhibit an appreciation for collaboration. They will need a clear focus on driving sales and strengthening client relationships. Candidates will also need to be results-oriented and be comfortable with a variety of computer databases with special proficiency in the MS Office Suite. The Distribution Client Account Manager will demonstrate the ability to find solutions to problems while building and improving processes and be able to exert influence effectively across multiple departments. Retail industry experience is desirable.
