Job Requirements / Description

AESC is an energy consulting firm that drives solutions towards a clean energy future and with a collaborative and professional work environment. We are passionate about what we do and are looking for talented people who share our passion to effect change and better our society and environment, one kilowatt-hour at a time.

AESC is seeking an Energy Data Analyst to provide critical data collection, analysis, and energy modeling functions for a variety of energy programs. A primary aspect of the role is to collect customer utility data and develop multivariate regression models that explain the baseline energy use in commercial and industrial facilities. Models must meet specific statistical criteria to be considered valid, with the end goal of accurately measuring energy performance compared to the established baseline over time.

Tasks will include data collection, transformation, and management; learning how to use in-house and proprietary modeling tools, extracting information from the models, and interpreting and reporting on the results, for example through creating charts, slides, and memos. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required and experience with statistical software applications such as R or Python is expected. The Energy Data Analyst should also have some background in energy systems analysis to support this work. While the data analyst is not expected to understand these models upon joining, they are expected to learn them through hands-on training and to be comfortable with learning new software in general.

The ideal candidate will have three years of experience working with energy-related datasets to analyze energy performance. We seek candidates who exhibit intellectual curiosity, that are versatile in their approaches to problem solving, and are resilient when faced with new challenges.
