Job Summary: The Medical Assistant provides support services to all the healthcare providers, clinical staff and clients in the Crossroads Community Care Outpatient Integrated Clinic. Assists with administrative duties within the clinic.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Responsible for managing provider schedules, assisting with daily workflow within the Outpatient Integrated Clinic.
- Responsible for the care and coordination of clients assigned to their providers care team.
- Responsible for giving injections of medication to clients, blood draws, vitals, assist with minor procedures and other necessary testing.
- Stocks, sanitizes, monitors inventory control, specimen labeling and handling to ensure the accomplishment of daily patient care and safe clinic flow.
- Complete daily assignments, monitor and track appointments, processes referrals and schedule follow-up and specialty appointments.
- Works with retail and specialty pharmacies to coordinate required medication deliveries, validate prescription orders and labels.
- Coordinates with insurance companies for prior authorizations.
- Assist with scheduling lab orders to be picked up daily and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all client data is accurate and is HIPAA compliant.
- Providing excellent internal and external customer service.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Current CPR/First Aid/Narcan training.
- Current and annual negative TB Test.
- Current and valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check performed annually and upon hire, preferred.
- Successfully pass a background check and an Arizona Department of Health Services Adult Protective Services check.
- Knowledge of Computer, Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance.
- Excellent communication, time-management, detail orientated and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Minimum of High school diploma/GED required (associate degree preferred).
- 1+ years' experience in medical assisting preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant required.
- Computer skills and Microsoft Office experience.
- Fast paced outpatient clinic setting.
- Primarily indoors, however, some outdoor work may be requested.
- While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and speak or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and seldom lift and/or move >100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

- Valid AZ Driver's License.
- May include travel between sites and other locations.
- Local and statewide travel when requested or required.
