The Associate Cyber Security Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the organization's cybersecurity posture by assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures. This entry-level position involves working closely with senior cybersecurity professionals to protect the organization's data and IT infrastructure from cyber threats. The Associate Cyber Security Engineer will participate in monitoring, incident response, security assessments, and various projects aimed at enhancing the security landscape.

What you’ll be doing:
- Assist in monitoring security alerts and events using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and other security tools.
- Participate in the investigation and response to security incidents.
- Proactively monitor internal and external data feeds for threats and attacks.
- Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of security technologies, such as firewalls, zero-trust, endpoint protection, and system hardening systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security measures are integrated into infrastructure, systems, and applications.
- Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training programs for employees.
- Assist in maintaining detailed documentation of security policies, procedures, incident response activities, and assessment results.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations on security initiatives, incidents, and compliance status for management and stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or other entry-level cybersecurity credentials are a plus.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking, and common threats.
- Familiarity with security technologies and tools (e.g., SIEM, Endpoint Detect & Response, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with secure coding practices a plus.
- Knowledge of security tools, languages, and operating systems used in security practices (BURP Suite, Nessus, NMAP, Python, Kali Linux, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and be self-directed.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards professional development.
