ROLE

Catering Sales & Event Manager

We are looking for a candidate with experience as both a Catering Events Manager, as well as experience in Event Sales. The ideal candidate is warm and driven. They know how to and can maintain a sense of urgency with a calm, effortless demeanor.

The role’s hours are irregular, and it is not uncommon to work in a mix of day, night and weekend settings. Given the nature of Event Sales, being hyper-responsive to clients is critical to being successful. The role is physically split between our DTLA office, WFH and onsite at our events which are scattered throughout LA County.

The candidate must be a strong, charismatic leader with meaningful experience managing people. They have a strong sense of style, and grasp both culinary and event design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adhere to a monthly sales plan to create new business
  2. Lead event meetings when applicable and keep staff informed
  3. Schedule and execute sales-related activities such as client outreach calls, site visits and strategic emailing
  4. Help create marketing materials & sales decks.
  5. Attend industry-related events to generate new business and stay current with trends
  6. Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned events from start to finish. Ensure the highest quality of product and service throughout
  7. Represent the company at tradeshows and conferences as necessary
  8. Work closely with other departments to develop solutions and service plans based on client needs
  9. Ensure all communication for business is completed promptly
  10. Meet all tasks, projects, and deadlines as directed
  11. Collect deposits and payments based on company procedures
  12. Maintain a professional look and attitude
  13. Consistently deliver high standards of care to existing customers
  14. Facilitate the design and delivery of appropriate catering menus by collaborating with clients, management, and chefs.
  15. Communicate with clients and event planners to prepare and facilitate all aspects of creative and logistics planning.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  2. 2 (minimum) to 4 (preferred) years’ experience with large scale, high budget, premium quality Event Planning or Catering
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Internet Research required, TPP a bonus
  4. Must be flexible, creative problem-solver with a positive demeanor
  5. Must be self-motivated, organized, with superb attention to detail
  6. Ability to juggle multiple projects under deadlines, work independently and set appropriate priorities
  7. Must be highly Customer Service focused and have evolved interpersonal skills.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  9. Discretion and integrity is crucial
  10. Must be comfortable and productive in fast-paced, high energy, high visibility environments
  11. Willing to work weekends, evenings and non-traditional work hours
  12. Be tough, and competent.
