About this position
We are looking to add an early talent or experienced credit analyst to our team. This role is responsible for evaluating commercial credit applications to finance equipment and other solutions across numerous markets. The individual in this role will assess creditworthiness through research utilizing business and personal credit, publicly available information, general industry analysis and financial statements as applicable to make independent decisions to lend money. Our typical credit analyst will process multiple credit applications each day. The role provides a broad foundation of risk management principles within GreatAmerica, supporting career advancement. Our best and brightest credit analysts are eager to learn, self-starters and excel at thinking on their feet while making informed decisions.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough investigation and obtain relevant credit information to formulate independent lending decisions, providing written analysis and justification for the decision
  • Analyze financial statements as applicable
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding your decisions.
  • Build relationships with your team members to support the long-term success of our organization.

To be successful in the Credit Analyst role, you'll need
  • A Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, as GreatAmerica takes pride in providing an exceptional customer experience during every interaction.
  • Excellent analytical ability and the capacity to process information quickly
  • Must enjoy the autonomy of making independent decisions
  • An understanding of financial statements
