Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:In this position, you will get to:Collaborate with Product Development, Supply, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Materials teams to ensure current and new packaging solutions align with customer needs and business objectivesDesign and develop packaging solutions from a variety of materials for new and existing productsMaintain and develop packaging design and testing standards to meet internal and external customer requirementsCreate and manage packaging specifications and documentation for all packaging materialsCoordinate development, delivery, testing and review of packaging prototypesProvide direct and indirect customer support to address questions and concerns related to packagingGenerate and lead packaging value engineering initiatives to improve quality, sustainability and reduce costsCoordinate manufacturing and distribution trials of new packaging/product systemsCoordinate internal R&D lab and external third party packaging performance testingSupport the quoting, purchasing, and installation of packaging equipment and toolingParticipate in co-op recruiting and training for Packaging EngineeringOccasional travel to attend packaging related conference or exposYOU HAVE:Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, or related field2+ years of Packaging Engineering experience in an industrial environmentKnowledge of various packaging materials and technologiesFamiliarity with Warehousing functions such as storage, shipping, and receivingKnowledge of applicable ASTM and ISTA testing standardsKnowledge of ISPM-15 lumber compliance and regulationsERP (BOM) & PDM (Product Data Management) experience such as Oracle, ENOVIA, JDE, SAP, AS400, etc.SolidWorks CAD experience and experience with MS Office programsExperience using palletization software such as TOPS or CAPEWE HAVE:A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every dayAt nVent, we believe safer systems ensure a more secure world.
